is a fourth generation basket weaver.  Eva was skillfully taught the art of basket weaving by her mother, Nadine Degraffenreaidt.  Hand weaving baskets is Eva’s biggest passion.  She really enjoys making intricate baskets.  Weaving baskets with designs that are difficult to achieve provides a rewarding challenge for her.

Eva uses berries, nuts, flowers, vegetables, and anything that will make a stain to dye the reed for her baskets.

She has been awarded numerous ribbons for baskets and teaches locally at different community colleges. She is a member of the North Carolina Basket Association where she is on the Board of Directors.  She is a member of the Chapel Hill Basket Guild, Chatham Weavers Basket Guild and the Chatham Artists Guild.
